Since 1970, Dr. Daniels has instructed college students and conducted workshops. her students have recieved many awards and scholarships over the years. Some are now master teachers themselves. Beginners are always welcome, but previous painting experience is recommended for best results.

At the present, there are no scheduled workshops at WoodSong Institute for 2009 due to heavy college load. However, if you really would like to attend one, talk to your art association or art buddies to see about arranging one in your area. All you need is 5 for the class to make. Outside the 100 mi. limit, add travel expenses.

One or two day "Trouble Shooting" workshops within range of 100 miles from Whitewright are extremely popular with artgroups. Individuals are invited to bring works that have resided in the closet too long and be prepared to do a "makeover." The one-day workshop, including a semo of choice of subject are medium, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is $75. Oils, watercolors and acrylics are the usual mediums. You can choose a demo from Equine, Winning Color Cobinations, Layering Techniques, Floral, Portraiture, Landscape or Still life.

Two-day "trouble shooting" workshops with the same schedule include two demos of your choice. You can get even more work fone under expert supervision $145.

Four-day Equine workshops include outdoor sketching with horses, demonstrations, critiques, experimental techniques such as monoprints, and working on an individual piece. Usually done at WoodSong Institute in Whitewright. $375

For art educators, the Learning Cube is an introduction to an entirely different concept in art learning and motivating students. The four hour course is $65.

Where will I stay?
Lodging in local motels in Sherman and Denison is available for reasonable rates.

What will I wear?
Shorts or jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes in the summer.

How do I get there?
DFW in Dallas Ft. Worth is the closest airport, about an hour and a half away. Maps will be sent when you enroll. Driving is best to bring all your art supplies.

What about food?
Lunches are catered during the 4 day workshops, but dinner is on you. Most make sandwiches from the refrigerator or drive into Sherman, Denison or Bonham for finer dining. Let us know about special diets.

What do we do for recreation?
Although Texas is horse country, evenings are generally spent in critiques, research or working on paintings. There is a good movie theatre and decent shopping downtown. Whitewright is a historic place with many lovely old homes to drive by, also a number of horse and longhorn ranches.
